Stayed during the Wet Season so the hotel was relatively quiet. Slightly older rooms but clean and tidy. The pool was large and refreshingly cool - has a small very shallow area for small children. The restaurant is a large well-appointed area, with a bar and bistro section with couches and low tables, and then a regular sit-down area. Dinner was slightly busier with 6-7 tables filled when we were there - service was polite, the food was absolutely delicious (our group had steak, pork, and kangaroo and all options were equally tasty). Food prices are pricier than even in Darwin but that’s not unexpected given the remote location and time of the year. The hotel also has a unique features in that it has an art gallery displaying Indigenous art works and crafts that are for sale. The hotel can organise postage of your artwork to your usual address if it is too big to carry with you. There is also a gift shop in the front foyer which stocks a range of drinks and snacks, and merchandise that is very reasonably priced (Kakadu-themed / house of Darwin t shirts for $69.95, drink bottles/coffee cups, hats, tote bags etc). Overall a very pleasant stay, and we hope to return!

I’d always wanted to stay at the Crocodile so it was a great opportunity. My room was upgraded to one near the beautiful pool, so I was very happy with that. The room was spacious, with comfortable chairs and table provided as well as office/workspace and chair. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well supplied with toiletries. I had one dinner and one lunch there and the meals were beautifully presented. I did enjoy my continental breakfast which had a good variety. The manager and staff were extremely helpful and professional and very friendly. I think that they are doing an incredible job given that the hotel is huge and in a remote area. I loved my stay there and can’t wait to go back. There is a stunning gallery of Aboriginal artworks for sale and the decor in the foyer and throughout the hotel reflects features of the area, the amazing Kakadu. Its wet season so sightseeing opportunities are limited but a stay in the dry would be incredible.

Our stay at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel was overall pleasant. The hotel's crocodile-shaped design is definitely a unique feature, and it adds a fun, quirky touch to the experience. The location is convenient for exploring Kakadu National Park, making it easy to access the major attractions in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, which was important given the heat, but a few areas could use a refresh to match the four-star rating. The pool was a nice way to cool off after a day of sightseeing, though it was quite busy at times. The restaurant offered a decent selection of meals, and the breakfast buffet had a variety of options. Overall, it's a solid option for staying in Kakadu if you want something unique and centrally located.

This hotel was built in 1988 and looks a bit tired. But the architectural concept in creating a crocodile shape is amazing. Checkin was friendly and efficient. We requested a room on the top floor and were allocated 238. Perfect location half way along the crocodile ‘body’. The room was clean and recently painted but the ensuite looked tired and in need of a makeover. We ate at the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent.

Very spacious and well presented room with great A/C, fan and an air purifier. Very comfy bedding with great office space. The staff were pleasant and helpful including the restaurant where the food was nicely prepared and good value with cheaper items listed on the menu. The indigenous art gallery was a welcome surprise as well. Easy walking distance to other Jabiru facilities.
